Common questions
How often should smoke detectors be replaced?
Most manufacturers recommend replacing them about every 10 years. The manufacture date is printed on the back of the detector. One that chirps repeatedly or fails its test should be replaced sooner.
I don't know how many detectors I need. Is that okay?
